Its main pharmacodynamic effect is the inhibition of gastric secretion. The drug does not affect cardiovascular, renal, endocrine, pancreatic exocrine, or gastrointestinal motility functions. no clinically important interactions with other drugs have been described. It is an effective agent in the therapy of duodenal, gastric, and peptic ulcer, as well as of zollinger-ellison syndrome.
