I have a cheap 5 dollar laser i got from the corner store on my block (NYC, Bronx). Is there any mod i can do to the laser to be able to see the laser beam at night? I tryed to push more power into one but it just burned out |

My 5 milliwatt green laser works great for pointing out stars to large groups. Besides being 5 times more powerful than the typical 1 mw red laser pointer, the human eye is twice as sensitive to green as to red, so it appears 10 times brighter. You could wait for a foggy night, or shine it over the smoke in a campfire, or shine it at the police through clouds of tear gas (usually fatal), but there is no way to make it appear 10 times brighter without destroying it. |

You'd have to look inside each appliance for it. I would not expect them to be that easy to find. That is why we carry them in our catalog. |

Hey, I was wondering if you could tell me where to get/make an extra powerful laser. I want it to be very bright so that you can see the beam for an extended distance. I was hoping how you could tell me how do make it as bright as possable using a retail laser pointer as my starting point. |

How far do you want to go? You can get 5 milliwatt green laser pointers for $129 that go 3 to 5 miles. Making a powerful laser from a laser pointer is like making a race car from a lawnmower. You might be better off starting from scratch. There are many sites listed on a quick Google search for "homemade laser". Some are here and here. |

No. You seem to have several misconceptions. 1. "Black light" is a slang term for a source of ultraviolet light. It is not black. 2. There is no color "black". It is simply the absense of light. 3. Whether you can see a beam depends on scattering in the medium it travels through, so that parts of the beam are deflected towards your eye. It does not depend on the background color. 4. Beam is not spelled beem. |
