I made the second pump just like in the instructions, and then added a hose barb and hose (I could not find anything that made the 3/4 inch smaller like the elbow in the first pump, so the tube is kind of big and also implodes on itself). I can pump it to the point where I cant get any more air to come out, but I cannot do such things described like boiling water or drying out things. My main purpose for building this was to be able to dry things out quickly and easily. I tried everything I could think of such as adding and subtracting water and at first I had 3-4 feet of hose, so I cut it down to less than 1 foot to see if that would help, but didnt. I thought maybe if I could stop up the check valve where the air is pushed out once I got to this point, it would create less pressure and open up the first valve to get more air out. Is this pump able to dry things out or boil water? and is there anything I might be doing wrong, or could do to help this? Any help is appreciated,
Thanks,
Jonathan
