Would it be possible to modifie or rewind one or a few of those small transfromers that can be found radios and such to give out about 25-30kv? at a low current. could they be powered from pluses from an arangment of a 555 timer? or I am losing my time? |

Power transformers would be very lossy when used with pulses from a timer IC. You would be better off winding your own coil, or using a flashlamp transformer. |

how would I go about winind a coil, are there any winding rules to follow? what core do I use? |
