The other day I bought a metal slinky toy, and I connected my Van De Graff generator (it was a slightly larger generator that I had built than the one one this website). I held the slinky above the VDG and it started to beconme attracted to the sphere. When the bottom of the slinky hit the sphere, it jumped back. The process started over and over again and the slinky kept gaining speed! So I decided to hang the slinky on a grounded rod over the generator. It's a neat thing to look at. Try it if you have a van de graff generator!

It depends on what size you want. I built a large version of the VDG project, exept I used ABS pipe, an electric scooter motor, and Caution tape for the belt.

You can buy a commercial VDG here or here.

I think you should make a larger VDG project on your website. The big one I built was very simple to make. I connected the ends of the caution tape with rubber cement, and I made the sphere out of two stainless steel mixing bowls.

It is very durable. I have been running it for almost a year every day, and I have not had to replace it once.

how much do they sell amber? I think that if
you use that in place the of nail, and put wool
between the amber and the fuse tube. You can use
that to create static better.
