The page on artificial color contains a contradiction. It says, quote:

1. There are only seven non-natural (artificial) colors certified for consumption

2. it must be explicitly labeled in the ingredients list

3. If the label does not name the compound specifically, but simply says something like "contains artificial color", then you know it does not contain one of the colors listed above.

If 1 & 2 are true, then 3 can't be. If there are only seven, and they must be specified on the label, then how can a label display the words "contains artificial color" without being specific?
