In the laser project I try to to connect a microphone to the transmiter but the thing is that the micropohone is getting all the energy and letting the laser without any, then I try to conect the microphone apart of the project but I don't know how I could do that, I'm asking for help on this if you could give me an example of how connect it or a diagram please help me |

You need to connect the microphone to an amplifier, then plug the laser's plug into the amplifier's earphone output. Radio Shack sells an inexpensive battery powered amplifier (part number 277-1008) that works great for this application. You can see a picture of it in the electric fish section of the web site. |

My kids and I were amazed at the laser communicator project we found on your website. They ask me to explain it but I couldn't. Can you help me? |

There is a section at the end of the project titled "How does it do that?". If that explanation is not sufficient, please let me know, and I will expand upon it. |

Are you using a laser from our catalog? If not, you may need an extra current limiting resistor in series with the battery. Something like 100 ohms should prevent too much current from getting to the laser. If your laser uses 2 batteries instead of 3, you should only use 2 batteries. If 100 ohms makes the laser too dim, you can put two resistors in parallel to make a 50 ohm resistor. That resistor should then be put in series with the battery. You may also be using a very powerful amplifier or sound source. Turn the volume down. |

hello simon! i guess im gettin on your nerves now, but a question again pls...u say i can connect my pc speaker to the photoelectric cell n battery, do i need to provide the pc speaker with a power supply other than the photoresistor? and i read that a guy used a earphone straight instead of the amplifier... can u elucidate?a schematic would be really helpful. thanking u, ryan. |

You need to re-read the web page. If the speaker is amplified, it will need its normal power supply. If it is not amplified, you may only barely hear anything. |

Hi Simon. I have to enter in the science fair with laser communicator project but i live in Pakistan and you know in Pakistan the electric shop keepers are usually ill litrated and they don,t under stand the terms present in your site.No one can understand the terms, solar cell or photo resistor so please tell me the method how can i make the solar cell or photo resistor at home.If it is not possible so please tell me the solution of this problem I shall be thankful to you |

Hello Simon, I know that i am taking you to headache. But it is key to my success in science fair. Please write the laser communicator project in simplified language. Define collector lead emitter lead of transistor in left right form. |

We ship all over the world. You can order the parts on our web site. USB to Serial adapters are available for computers that don't have serial ports. They are inexpensive. |
