We offer pyrolytic graphite in our catalog.

Ok.. I jsut saw this today. I'll probobly end up getting some. Question. Would it be adviseable to get 4 1" cube neomidium magnets to do this levitation project? will this make the graphite levitate a bit higher since it is a bigger magnet than what is shown on the site? how high should i expect levitationa nd do u think it will even work with that big of magnet? Will you be able to levitate a 16mmx16mm piece of graphite with it or will it be unstable or something? I'd apreciate your input.

The 12 mm cubes seem to be optimal.
Larger or smaller cubes don't levitate as well.
You can levitate larger pieces of graphite by
just using more magnets.

can you levitate the pyrolytic graphite higher than 1mm as shown in your website by attaching electromagnets (homemade one:a nail with wire coiled in it and ends of wire attached to a battery)? And if yes, how do you attched the electromagnets to the 4 neodymium magnets?

To me, the main beauty of the PG levitation is that it requires no power.
If you want to use power, there are far better ways to levitate things.
Your scheme would use boatloads of power and waste most of it as heat.
A better way would be to use two permanent magnets to cancel gravity,
and just use a small electromagnet in a feedback loop to keep the floating
magnet in the spot where gravity is just cancelled.

Do a Google search for "levitating globe" to see what I mean.
