The instructions are here: Solar Cell.

The materials are all common things you can find
at a local hardware store.

See this site to buy it on-line.

But most hardware stores carry it.

I'd just like to add that if you have the tools and can't find copper flashing, I used a copper pipe that a I cut open and pounded flat then sanded down. Worked absolutely fine for me.

Wafer fabrication plants, clean rooms, cutting and polishing equipment,
silk screening for the contacts, annealing ovens, and all of the other
things you need are probably beyond your budget.

Is it possible to make a solar panel from copper coil/wire and a magnified glass. By taking the copper coil/wire and placing a large magnified glass (if you can find or make a Square one)over the copper coil/wire. Place it near the sun light and wait. The copper coil/wire would began to heat causing some sort of energy towards its destination, such as a lamp. The energy would then be used to power the lamp.

I dont believe for sure that this would work, at first when i heard about it i laughed, but not everything always makes sense. For me, a person that loves science, i find it interesting. Since i love to create and test experiments, i am going to test this theory. Its nothing to lose, right. Although I am looking forward to this experiment i dont really have much faith that it will be accurate. Whats your opinion on this experiment?
